"Dancing" with the "Stars"
Edited on Mon Oct-15-07 08:18 PM by darkstar
OK. I'm guessing my little quotes around the two terms isn't original on my part, but seriously WTF?

It's on for two hours? Twice a week?

I know people have varying tastes, and that's cool. But I've just got rabbit ears and ABC comes in best and it's like this show takes up 20-25% of the network's Monday-Thursday prime time space.

Oh yeah. I truthfully only know 2 of the stars, Marie and the Medicine Woman. And I'm being harsh about the dancing because it probably is really hard, I 'spose, but what I just saw Ms. Osmond do was pretty awful.

Editing to add that I get the audio only for the ball game, so I'm particularly peeved.

2. Aw, c'mon....

Most nights are dominated by football or some other men-only sports that don't appeal to the people who enjoy shows like Dancing with the Stars. How about a little parity?

And it's only on for 90 min. on Monday and then a 60 min. results show on Tues. Sporting events take up way more time than that.

3. OK right with you on that
I'm not even that big of a baseball fan. I usually wake up and tune in for the series. But I agree with you about sports, too. Monumentally disproportionate amount of time on TV--and now radio--devoted to it.

And I'll stand corrected on the times. I just knew I came back at 8:00 and it was going on again.

4. Men only sports?
Do you mean participating or watching? I'm still a female, last time I checked anyway and I'd much rather watch sports than most of the crap that's on TV.

BTW, I work in the sports department of my company and half the department is women. Guess we missed the memo that sports were for men only.

5. Football, baseball, hockey, basketball....
When was the last time you saw a women's sport on prime-time tv?

6. You're right, not many women's sports are televised
there is the WNBA and women's college basketball but I'd still rather watch the Diamondbacks and Rockies (I'm from Upstate NY so have no ties to either team) rather than the crapfest that's usually on prime time TV.

I tried to watch part of Desperate Housewives last night. Yikes, how can that show be so highly rated? Do that many people drink heavily on a Sunday night because I know I'd need a LOT of alcohol to make it through an entire episode.
