1. I have had a headache since Friday night
I believe mine is tension. The stress in our house right now is palpable.

2. I don't know what is causing mine.
Feels like a tension headache, because it's mostly in the back of my head, my neck, and my temples. Though I don't know what the source of the tension is. x(

3. Have you tried Excedrin Migraine?
I find it knocks out a headache for me quicker than anything.

Hope you feel better soon.......headaches suck.

5. yes
a coworker came over looking just awful, asking if anyone had any Excedrin Migraine - we didn't but I felt bad for her so I hopped in the car and went to the drug store - 60 minutes later she looked SO much better - I believe that stuff must really work. :)

21. It does work pretty well.
You're not supposed to take more than 2 prescription migraine pills in a 24 hour period, so if I have already taken 2 and still have a headache I have to take the over-the-counter stuff. One Excedrin Migraine has always killed whatever's left of the headache.

Shoot, maybe I should have gotten the Migraine or Tension kind. :-(

13. Execedrin Migraine is the best!
I get headaches that narcotics don't help at all but Excedrin Migraine will knock them out. It even works for me for sinus headaches.

I'm never without it. I wish I had them back when I had a headache every day 24/7 for 10 years. The docs kept giving me valium which did no good....come to find out it was a vertebrae sitting on the occipital nerve.

Sorry....went into a rant.

Feel better soon!

32. It's the same as regular Excedrin
Unless there's an inert ingredient that affects the delivery or absorption or somethin'. Otherwise, it's the same old 250 mg. aspirin, 250 mg. acetaminophen, 65 mg. caffeine.

Excedrin's the only thing that works on my bastard headaches. Not even Vicodin will touch 'em, but half the time it's just one Excedrin and they're gone in half an hour.

8. BP checked about a month ago and it was fine.
I'm not sick, and I thought I was drinking enough water, but maybe I haven't been. I tend to drink more water in the summer.

11. My RN wife says you should drink at least 10 glasses of water....
...at day, especially if you drink caffeine, lemonade, tea, mountain dew, etc. Since you are having the episodes at night, Mrs. Robeson tends to think it is related to your diet.

okay. Not stellar, maybe, but I don't eat lots of junk.

16. I'd just go with the water thing for a couple of days, and then....
...measure it from there. However, if you keep having headaches, you need to go to a doctor. Strokes, and such, are a very real thing. Also, Mrs Robeson just asked me if you have any numbness anywhere?

Do you think yours might be something to do with Southern California?

Sometimes, when people move to a new location, it can be allergies.

Hope you feel better soon, too.

There is more than enough of it to go around, and my husband is not the best at dealing with disappointment (he is looking for work).

31. When I used to live in Irvine..
I would go down to Pelican Point (of course, back then, it didn't cost anything to get in) and take very long walks on the beach. It helped me tremendously. I truly believe that is the only way I survived those times. Hope things get better soon!

from no sleep and probably a bad diet.

1T of brewer's yeast w 500 mg C 2X a day fixed me up. And I have no idea why. B vitamins? Protein? I have no clue but it worked.

I took the brewer's yeast in a little milk.

43. Who can resist
doctor's orders?

A man was having prostate trouble and went to see the doctor. After the exam the doctor asked to speak to his wife in private. The doctor said "you need to have sex with your husband every day, or he's going to die."

When the husband saw his wife again, he asked "well, what did the doctor say?"

Wife says "It's bad news. He said you are gonna die."

44. That's when I get a real nasty attitude.
Edited on Tue Oct-16-07 02:05 AM by Jamastiene
I have headaches that do that to me. Those recommendations on the pill bottles go out the window on the third night nowadays. If I have a headache come back or stay for a third night, I double the dosage and give it an hour. If that doesn't work, I take one more or I take another kind of pain medicine and make a drug cocktail (mixing pills despite all the doctors, nurses, and manufacturer's recommendations, screw their recommendations they didn't fucking work, nya nya nee boo boo).

I'm not above mixing pain pills if I am in pain for that long. Sometimes, I even strip naked, scream at the top of my lungs then smash my head up against the wall for a while too, just for the hell of it.

And sometimes, I do something else too, something solo, that I cannot mention on here, but I think you know what it is: Think She Bop, Longview, Eat To The Beat (by Blondie) or Bop Til You Drop (by the Ramones). Yeah, that sometimes works wonders for headaches, believe it or not. Take that, headache/pain. }(

And between my rash of temporary insanity, for which I have NO SHAME, and the drug cocktail, it works too. And if I ever do OD because of it, at least I won't have that damned headache any more, which in my warped, stubborn, hard headed mind, means I still won, dammit. I ain't taking pain but for so long before I fight back with all my best weapons. Sometimes, you just gotta take the headache (your own brain) by surprise and nip it in the bud, as Barney Fife would say. Problem solved.

I hope your headache goes away soon. Get well, my friend. :pals:
