Go fuck yourself OR Go fuck your robot!
Science fiction has posited the idea of sex between humans and robots before. Tasha Yar seduced Commander Data in The Next Generation episode entitled "The Naked Now," and in a Twilight Zone episode entitled "The Lonely," Jack Warden plays a convict sentenced to a life of loneliness on a remote asteroid. Out of compassion, the commander of a supply ship brings him a female robot which Warden's character falls in love with.

What has been science fiction may soon become reality, or so says Dr. David Levy of the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands:

Humans could marry robots within the century. And consummate those vows.

"My forecast is that around 2050, the state of Massachusetts will be the first jurisdiction to legalize marriages with robots," artificial intelligence researcher David Levy at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands told LiveScience. Levy recently completed his Ph.D. work on the subject of human-robot relationships, covering many of the privileges and practices that generally come with marriage as well as outside of it.

At first, sex with robots might be considered geeky, "but once you have a story like 'I had sex with a robot, and it was great!' appear someplace like Cosmo magazine, I'd expect many people to jump on the bandwagon," Levy said.

< snip... >

In his thesis, "Intimate Relationships with Artificial Partners," Levy conjectures that robots will become so human-like in appearance, function and personality that many people will fall in love with them, have sex with them and even marry them.

She's probably my dream girl. :loveya: I don't even mind that her people are bent on the destruction of the human race! I mean, look at her! YOWZA!

Okay, I'll be less of a dork now. I promise.

6. Isaac Asimov wrote about that in 1983
In The Robots of Dawn. A human woman had a sexual relationship with a "humaniform" (android) robot, and considered him to be her husband.

Asimov being Asimov, however, there were no steamy scenes. :)

11. And Robert Anton Wilson wrote about the first robot:mammal dyad in 1980-1981
Not really anthropomorphic, though.

Well, except for the prodigious Rehnquist, of course.

7. I did Grovelbot.
It was pretty good. Problem is, now the Botster (my petname) won't stop calling me.

8. Dear Wired Forum,
I never thought I'd be writing to you, but when I saw my hot cyborg neighbor downloading some upgrades one morning, I knew it was only a matter of time until I got my hands on her incredible interface modules...

10. Does a vacuum cleaner count as a robot?
If so, then medical literature already abounds with cases of attempted intimacy with that humble household appliance.
