oh noez, the bloodthirsty pit-bull!!11

Oh noes!!~! She's about to attack!

.
.
.

The grim remains of a tennis ball:

All this destroyin' of tennis balls...sleepyyy:

Seriously, though, she's the *best* dog we've ever had. She's just an unbelievable snuggle dog--she loves nothing more than to curl up in bed with us and snore away the afternoon :)

2. She sounds like a sweetie, same as the pit bull my sister had.
Tessie was the greatest dog. Neighborhood kids would sit on her, pet her, etc., and she just tolerated all of it.

She is a sweetheart and thinks she is a lap dog, even though she weighs eighty pounds. She'll lick your face off. Your dog is a beauty.

15. I have a theory concerning pit bulls and othe "bully breeds"
Edited on Wed Oct-17-07 07:50 AM by cuke
They are, by nature, more attached to people, and as result more traumatized by abuse from people. IME, the same is true of dobermans, rotties, and other feared breeds

In addition, these breeds are known for their intelligence. Since dogs learn by association, and intelligent dog is one the makes associations quickly. An intelligent dog will learn to associate a command with an action faster (with fewer repetitions) than a less intelligent one. An intelligent dog that is attacked by another dog is also more likely to associate other dogs with an attack. IOW, an intelligent dog is more likely to become aggressive as a result of abuse

19. more than a theory
I have lived with and loved bully dogs for over 30 years now. I can tell you from experience, what I have now is an 80lb lap dog, or that is what she wants to be anyway. If you want to make a "pitbull" mean, you don't have to beat them, feed them gunpowder and throw strings of firecrackers into the pen with them. Just chain them up, throw a little food at them and otherwise ignore them. They love their people and long to be with their people. My dog sleeps at the foot of my bed, and sometimes in the bed, she likes to wait until we are asleep and sneak up under the covers. :D

21. Black Jack waits until things look calm...
Then he jumps up onto the foot of the bed with the grace of a ballet dancer, seldom waking us.

How ANYONE could have put this boy in the pound is beyond me.

16. You wanna see teh vishus pibbles, I show u.
This is a young fighter-in-training at a kennel we "visited" not too long ago. You'll note the chain and the dirt circle she lives on. She immediately rolled over for belly rubs. Yeah, killer.

And of course, the former bait dog

And who could forget this girl (we removed her from the aforementioned kennel)

Tey are the killaz! Boogedy boogedy!

17. boy do those dogs ever crash. They are so all out and up for anything
then they wear themselves out and crash on the couch,

My daughter bought a hiking saddlebag for hers and put weights in the pockets. When she puts it on him he becomes 'working dog' and marches up the street head held high and is much lest distracted by sounds, sights and smells ...she walks him hard and when he comes in he collapses!

He is a very sweet and snuggly doggie though.

35. A change in diet from the tough old people that are so easy to pick off.
A Pontotoc County woman was killed Monday by a pack of stray dogs. The 65-year-old woman was walking with her walker to her mailbox when she was attacked by a pack of dogs that were Pitbull mixed. KTEN's Hailee Holliday reports.
