Do you dream?
Edited on Wed Oct-17-07 09:02 PM by Gregorian
Every once in a while I experience something that opens my eyes. Something unexpected. And I think of how things could be. And how they actually are sometimes.

The nerdy musical guy. I might just write him in for the primary.

1. Vividly. Here's one where I shot Eminem:
Too vivid for my comfort. My "dream friends" and I were standing 8 yards away from the outdoor stage on which he was performing. He wore white tennis shoes, blue jeans and a red hooded sweatshirt. Well, he drew the string on the hood so tightly, only his nose was visible (like Kenny in South Park). He turned his head toward me, leapt off the stage and came at me!

Suddenly, there was a gun in my hand. I raised it and shot. Boom, right in the chest. He fell right there. I couldn't believe I had so swiftly defended myself against an attacker.

The music stopped. One of my friends said, "You shot Eminem." I said ,"He was going to kill me!"
She said, "You. Shot. Eminem." She shook her head while people stared silently.

Suddenly, I was in my bed with the remote aimed at the TV. All the news footage had a highschool picture of me next to a picture of Eminem. There was lots of footage on Eminem's brilliant career, his friends and family, the books he wrote, his interviews, movies and videos, interviews with his fans. Then, there was footage of me, getting stuck in traffic. Crumpling up a resume I'd written and throwing it in the trash. Lighting the wrong end of a cigarette. Tripping over my cat on the way to the bathroom.

The second time, the video footage of me only gets more embarrassing.

4. Brother, I would not wish that one on my worst enemy.
I also have recurring dreams about being in a concentration camp with other DUers. :scared: :hi: Why I can't just fucking go to sleep is beyond me.

2. I dream in full color- total participation- often dark
I've gotten used to it. I actually know I'm dreaming usually so I totally play with each scene. The sex dreams are awesome as are the "video game" dreams.

I always thought I was whack until about 2 months ago. My 19 year old daughter called me worried that she was losing her mind. She was telling me how vividly she dreams. She said she told her BF some of them and he was thinking she was nutzo. Mainly because of the macabre nature of them. (if thats a word)

I just said, "You'll get used to it. Be careful who you tell your dreams. They will lock you up. Enjoy."

Hehe

:hi:

7. Hmm. Actually this was a post about the Youtube guy.
I guess I should have worded it differently.

I think the guy is really unusual. I got a very freeing feeling seeing some nerd playing something usually reserved for a different type of person.

But it's all interesting stuff. Dreams and music. :)

5. That depends.
Some of my meds seem to suppress my dreams, and some of them make my dreams very vivid. So it depends on what combinations of meds I'm taking at the moment.

Years ago, before I needed all these meds, I often went long, long periods of time without being aware of having any dreams.

9. I usually don't remember any of my dreams.
The ones I DO remember, however, can be very vivid and twisted. The most recent one I truly remember was a while ago in which I was pulled over by some cops and told I was being monitored by some FBI/government guy. Fast forward, and I'm in my parents' garage, trying desperately to write something out on DU, because I KNEW they were coming for me. Right before my dream ended, I heard banging on the garage door, and the voice of the same FBI/government agent shouting, "It's over! It's ALL over!"

Also, a few summers ago, I had two nights in a row where I dreamed in cartoon. Seriously. Cartoon. That was a weird couple of nights...

10. If I wear earplugs while sleeping....
Sometimes the neighbors dog barks all night so I pop in the plugs, every time without fail I have the craziest damn dreams. Normally dream without the earplugs are typically caused by background noise or some trigger from the previous days work. but with earplugs it's hard to tell all the crazy crap that pops into my head, I suppose it's the dead silence that allows me to think more clearly.
