Here, someone had donated a beat-up dog house to us while we were living in Oklahoma for a bit, I'd just finished working on it and was testing something out on the inside.

Edit: The house wasn't for Alinak, he lived indoors, it was mostly a place for some local strays that liked to hang out in our yard with Al to shelter during the thunderstorms.

10. My fiance's uncle is a farmer
We went to visit during the harvest that year, so i got to ride in the combine (that thing is HUGE!!!). I was encouraged to climb up in this truck... then about 30 seconds after this picture was taken, Uncle Scott cruised up in the combine and dumped soybeans on my head. I was picking them out of my hair/clothes all day!

(Definitely a new experience for a "city girl" from Boston!)

i love to go crab hunting at night(of course we don't kill any of them). it's so fun to watch the crabs run across the beach at night and you can catch little ones and hold them without them pinching you.

It was taken well within my first year of doing photography. I've done professional photography since, but back then, this was just a lucky self-portrait.

And yes, I hang out in the photo group. I've even won the contest once or twice! Not entering in this month's contest, though. The theme is "Spooky," and spooky just isn't my style. This is about as close to spooky as I get, I guess.

It was a real spur-of-the-moment thing - a friend was going there and was looking for travel companions, so I went along. It was an incredibly cheap vacation, and really amazing. Havana is a stunning place.

Me dancing with the ten sacred clowns of the Zuni.

This is 3/4's up the south rim of the Grand Canyon during last years North rim to South rim crossing. I developed a bloody nose in the 112 degree heat. Thankfully it was a "dry" 112 f-ing degrees.

We left at first light, down the North Kiabab trail. Dinner and a bunk at phantom ranch that night. Up the bright angel trail the next day. OY!

It was great to have a meal waiting for you at Phantom Ranch. We only had to carry water and salty/sweet snacks (for electrolyte balance) Get reservations during the spring or fall. The heat is LETHAL, during the summer.

128. Fortunately no members of the Zuni tribe were there that moment.
They are quite serious when it comes to defending their culture, especially from a member of the apache nation (me).
I was in the Zuni artist co-op looking for crow fetishes and one of the counter persons asked me if I was in the crow clan (Zuni).

I answered no that I was apache and it was just like when the saloon piano stops playing in old western movies. Everyone stopped for a second and just froze, then life went on. For a moment there I thought I was in trouble. Long memories in the West.

149. here's one of me in an unusual situation
unusual for me at least. In between Mormon missionaries while in the Peace Corps. I swear, the only reason I even agreed to let them talk to me about their religion is because of their wonderful calves (and I don't mean baby cows either).

Clowning around on a motorcycle trip. We were in some little town in Arkansas where the Wal Mart was about the only game in town.
