What music are you lounging to?

Is it getting better
Or do you feel the same
Will it make it easier on you now
You got someone to blame
You say...

One love
One life
When it's one need
In the night
One love
We get to share it
Leaves you baby if you
Don't care for it

Did I disappoint you
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth
You act like you never had love
And you want me to go without
Well it's...

Too late
Tonight
To drag the past out into the light
We're one, but we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other
One...

Have you come here for forgiveness
Have you come to raise the dead
Have you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head

Did I ask too much
More than a lot
You gave me nothing
Now it's all I got
We're one
But we're not the same
Well we
Hurt each other
Then we do it again
You say
Love is a temple
Love a higher law
Love is a temple
Love the higher law
You ask me to enter
But then you make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
To what you got
When all you got is hurt

One love
One blood
One life
You got to do what you should
One life
With each other
Sisters
Brothers
One life
But we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other

One...life

One

3. Bettie Serveert - Kid's Allright
Kid's Allright
Down in the cellar with Dolly and Sue
Smoking fags and feeling cool
Talking to the guy who lives downstairs
Walking around in ridiculous flares
Back in the bushes, we find a cat
beat'm up with a baseball bat
and grandma says, we'll turn out bad
an go straight to hell, just like dad
But don't you get your hopes up high
the kid's allright
Down in the cellar with Dolly and Sue
Falling in love and feeling blue
Flirting with the guy who lives downstairs
and walking around in ridiculous flares
Playing hooky, pretend we're sick
Mamma don't care if it's just a trick
cause she just wishes she never had
those kids from hell who drive her mad
But don't you get your hopes up high
the kid's allright
now don't you think the kid's allright

28. I heard samples from Britney Spears's Blackout today
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 01:04 PM by mvd
Most of it just sounded like techno mush to me. One thing that made "Toxic," "Baby One More Time," "Lucky," and "Brave New Girl" so good was a sense of structure. There are so many good pop singers/groups out there: The Corrs, The Dollyrots, Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, New Pornographers, The Veronicas, Leslie Mills, Anna Nalick, Bonnie McKee, Kay Hanley, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Lucy Walsh, The Like, Alicia Keys, Damone, Aslyn, Zolof the Rock And Roll Destroyer, Nina Gordon, Barenaked Ladies, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Vanessa Carlton, Eisley, Brie Larson, Bree Sharp, The Faders, The Pierces, Cindy Alexander, new Mandy Moore and Aly & AJ, Kelly Clarkson, Kyle Lardner, A Fine Frenzy, Rooney, Kate Voegele, Fountains Of Wayne, Rilo Kiley (they are more pop on their great new CD) and more.. Britney overall doesn't compare.

I'm also listening to Skye Sweetnam's upcoming CD at MuchMusic.. I like it so far, but I'll wait for the U.S. release.

30. Ben Lee's Ripe was the last full-length CD I heard
While Awake Is the New Sleep is a little better, Ben remains a very good pop singer on Ripe. "Sex Without Love" is his best song IMO.

40. Ride Captain Ride-Blues Image
you can sing along:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jG48_69UTA

Seventy-three men sailed up
From the San Francisco Bay,
Rolled off of their ship
And here's what they had to say.
"We're callin' everyone to ride along
To another shore,
We can laugh our lives away
and be free once more."
But no one heard them callin',
No one came at all,
'Cause they were too busy watchin'
Those old raindrops fall.
As a storm was blowin'
Out on the peaceful sea,
Seventy-three men sailed off
To history.
Ride, captain ride
Upon your mystery ship,
Be amazed at the friends
You have here on your trip.
Ride captain ride
Upon your mystery ship,
On your way to a world
That others might have missed.
(Instrumental)
Seventy-three men sailed up
From the San Francisco Bay,
Got off their ship
And here's what they had to say.
"We're callin' everyone to ride along
To another shore,
We can laugh our lives away
And be free once more."

44. Love her or hate her
Amy Winehouse can sing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6LVGcIC1Tc

All I can ever be to you,
Is a darkness that we knew,
And this regret I had to get accustomed to,
Once it was so right,
When we were at our high,
Waiting for you in the hotel at night,
I knew I hadn't met my match,
But every moment we could snatch,
I don't know why I got so attached,
It's my responsibility,
And you don't owe nothing to me,
But to walk away I have no capacity

He walks away,
The sun goes down,
He takes the day but I'm grown,
And in this grey, in this blue shade
My tears dry on their own,

I don't understand,
Why do I stress A man,
When there's so many better things at hand,
We could a never had it all,
We had to hit a wall,
So this is inevitable withdrawal,
Even if I stop wanting you,
A Perspective pushes thru,
I'll be some next man's other woman soon,

I shouldn't play myself again,
I should just be my own best friend,
Not fuck myself in the head with stupid men,

He walks away,
The sun goes down,
He takes the day but I'm grown,
And it's OK,
In this blue shade,
My tears dry on their own,

So we are history,
YOUR shadow covers me
The sky above,
A blaze only that lovers see

He walks away,
The sun goes down,
He takes the day but I'm grown,
And it's OK,
In this blue shade
My tears dry on their own,

I wish I could SAY no regrets,
And no emotional debts,
And as we kiss goodbye the sun sets,
So we are history,
The shadow covers me,
The sky above a blaze that only lovers see,

He walks away,
The sun goes down,
He takes the day but I'm grown,
And it's OK,
In this blue Shade,
My tears dry on their own,

He walks away,
The sun goes down,
He takes the day but I'm grown,
And it's OK,
My deep shade,
My tears dry

He walks away,
The sun goes down,
He takes the day but I'm grown,
And it's OK,
My deep shade,
My tears dry.

I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know who I am

I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know who I am

Why we have to live in so much hate everyday? Oh yeah
Why the fighting and the coming down, am I sane?
I don't know, yeah

I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know who to be

I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know who I am

Why we have to live in so much hate everyday? Oh yeah
Why the fighting and the coming down, am I sane?
I don't know
When the teacher put the ruler down on my hand
I laugh!
Cross my heart and hide reliever in trails of blood,
I love?!?

I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know who I am

I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know anything
I don't know who to be
