The look on this cat's face is heartbreaking. Poor thing.

2. They are trying to SELL it?
Most people would just be satisfied finding it a good home. Selling it? Am I missing something, is this some kind of valuable cat? Looks like a standard kitten to me. I would give it a home? In a heartbeat. I would not pay anything to the former owner though.

3. yes
They have photos of all kinds of things at the sale this afternoon, and specifically mention the kitten as an item for sale.

I would get it myself, but I'm down sick with fever and chills this afternoon and already have five cats.

It has a very sweet face.

4. Must be a community property state.
The couple couldn't agree on who got the cat, it reminded each of the other, or they couldn't agree on the value of the cat, so they decided to sell it and split the money and each get a new cat. :eyes:

Poor kitty.

6. I've read that you should always sell a kitten or a puppy
at least for some amount. that way you get people who genuinely want a pet and aren't just doing it on a whim. I read this at a pet shelter's webpage.

12. Yep
And in fact, I don't believe you can give away a pet for free on Craigslist for that same reason.

To discourage people who aren't serious about getting a pet.

9. yeah, the whole thing is pathetic
There are photos of a little boy's bed, all made up, and the Winnie the Pooh toys still arranged on the pillows. All for sale. I hope the boy is faring better than the cat looks.
