1. Sure, I love that stuff
My favorite would be Captain Kronos, Captain Hunter.

You'd think the DVD era would have made it easier to collect them, but no. For example, it's absolutely stupid that Warner hasn't put all the Christopher Lee Dracula pictures into a single collection...

4. I remember Captain Kronos...that was an awesome film
I thought it was Vampire Hunter, though. Yes, I haven't been able to find any of these movies on DVD, and trust me...I've looked for them! :banghead:

17. It's 9.98 at Amazon!

Nice release, considering its age and obscurity. Brian Clemens gives a nice commentary.

A goodly number of the Hammers are out on DVD, it's just that the rights are diversely held, and tossed into release with no regard for context. Like this collection here:

3. I loved the Hammer Dracula films.
They used to play them on the local channel KCPQ, or Q13 as it was known before it became a Fox Network Channel ( ).

This was when I was a kid. I didn't understand the technique they used called "day-for-night" in which they shot night scenes during the day, with a heavy blue filter over the lens. I asked myself "Why is it always twilight in Hammer films?"

6. One thing I love about these films is that they seem to capture the true horror
slash-dread element ( sense of impending doom is there ) and it is dramatized to the point where everyone else thinks that it's just plain corny.....I remember some of these movies scaring the shit out of me...especially the ones with Christopher Lee ( what an incredible actor this man is ).

5. I haven't seen that many, but what I have seen I've liked.
Although that may be Star Wars geek bias, what with three major Star Wars villains being regular players there... :)

9. Well it has to be at least mentioned in reference to crossover actors here
since Christopher Lee didn't show up until Episode II.

12. the mere fact that he had to resort to playing a role in that POS movie
was a detriment to his career as an actor

10. It's not just horror... it's classic horror.
Very different from what is usually passed off as horror now.

11. Absolutely!
I delivered a lecture about Hammer once to the patrons of an illegal late-night restaurant. Odd but true. I have enjoyed Hammer movies for years.

This is a classic, in my opinion...it features Peter Cushing, Telly Savalas, and the great Christopher Lee........a great movie. If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend it!

18. It's not a Hammer movie - it's actually Spanish, I believe,
but with Hammer stalwarts (and Telly Savalas) acting in it. But I have seen it, and I like it a lot!
