Here's a tip--if your buddies tell you that you can either take your creek boat, or your play boat--go with the creeker. Unless of course your goal is to have you stern grabbed by the curtain of the waterfall so you can get dragged back into it, roll up a couple of times and then go for a swim, all to entertain said buddies. In that case go with the small playboat! :)

Where you see my head resurfacing, I thought "hey, I pulled it off!" And then I felt my stern get grabbed and felt myself yanked backward into the gnar. I don't think I had time to form the words, but I was thinking along the lines of "this is gonna get worsebefore it gets better!"

3. I'm fine--none the worse for it.
We were discussing the rating of that drop (we figured it was a fairly mild class IV), but before I ran it I told people what was gonna happen, and lo and behold, it happened.

I fought gamely for awhile--so at least my pride is intact. Other than that, the day passed without incident.

:hi:

4. It seemed like a few hours,, but it was probably less than five seconds.
I rolled up in that mess acouple of times, but kept getting flipped again before I could take a breath or really get squared up to dig out of the hole. As soon as I kicked out of my boat I was able to swim to shore. Just barely out of frame to the left were two friends with throw ropes working safety.

It looked dramatic, but wasn't that horrible. :)

Everything got LOUD damp and dark for a little bit tho'.
