I know there are those with much bigger issues, but I'm feeling like the world is using me for target practice these days.

I'm sure that after I have a discussion with a client/friend this evening, our 8 year friendship will be history. I can't take being walked all over any more and she just doesn't (and will never) get it.

My job is not pretty. For some reason, the powers that be have no idea how long it really takes to manage 4 business (3 are restaurants) that opened this year. Two opened in the last 60 days. I get the feeling that if I don't pick up the pace (impossible) that I might find myself unemployed. We have two more businesses opening by the end of the year. Peachy. Hire managers who will do their jobs and maybe, just maybe I could keep up. Payroll is a mess, the bank accounts are a nightmare and I'm the one who's slow.

Damn. :(

What are you, some kind of district manager?


Your job reminds me of a video game that my BiL had. There are three groups of ships attacking your mother ship. You have to command three defensive squadrons. It was kinda tricky. You had to phase into one group and take out a few of the enemy quickly and then phase out when hopefully they could handle it. Meanwhile your other two groups are getting beat up. So you have to flit around, find your weakest point and help there.

I think it is just that they do not care how long it takes. It is simply cheaper for them to have somebody who does 60-80 hours of work and gets paid for forty.

and there's a scramble on payday to pay individuals because their hours were never reported. :(
