7. Owwww!
Mine has lately taken to sharpening her claws on my arm.

MrSG says he's going to make me sign an affidavit swearing he isn't beating me up.

6. She could have seborrhea or a yeast infection
Edited on Mon Oct-22-07 10:44 PM by Whoa_Nelly
or an ear infection. All of these give off an odor.

Maybe get her in for a check up. Seborrhea can be secondary to another skin problem.

Good article here:

9. It's actually kind of a nice smell
That is, if you like the smell of cedar mixed with graphite. :D

11. Does kitty like to groom, or kind of laid back about it?
long hair or short? I had a kitty way back when that had long hair and was rather lazy, indifferent, haphazard about personal cleaning - had a peculiar odor like that. Possibly depressed or stressed.

14. Medium hair, frequent groomer
Hey, really — this is sort of a joke thread. I was nuzzling her neck and noticed a faint odor that seemed a bit like pencil shavings. It seemed like a funny thing to post, so...

She's fine, really. No change in her of late whatsoever. :)

17. Ok, here's a joke - my kitty eats stinky fishy cat food, licks & grooms
herself, then ends up smelling like baby powder. So pencil shavings seem interesting or at least plausible...

16. A plastic type that you hold in your fingers? Or a metal type where you
turn the handle. 'cause I'd imagine the latter would be a more serious odor.

18. If you'd fork out the dough for a REAL scratching post, the cat wouldn't have to resort to using....
...pencil sharpener to keep his nails sharp.

:D :D :D :D
