1. Surprisingly watchable
Loved it as a kid because it struck me as very "adult". Picked up the first season on DVD for a laugh, and discovered to my bemusement that the younger me was not entirely wrong.

I wouldn't put it in the same category as something like The Wire, but under the '80s cheese and the incredibly self-conscious art direction and costuming, it's a very seedy, cynical, and even depressing crime show.

4. Cheesy, but in a good way.
The idea that undercover vice cops could remain undercover while driving around in a white Ferrari Testarossa is just one of the deliciously cheesy aspects of the show.

The way James Edward Olmos' character morphed into some kind of katana-wielding ninja was also brilliant high-camp.

All the moody Phil Collins and Glen Frey music just put another layer of mozzarella on the whole hilarious pizza.

My wife loves it and has a couple of seasons on DVD. I enjoy watching it with her, because it's such a wonderful look back at what we used to think was cool.

6. Have never ever seen an episode
Had a stereo TV but we weren't wasting that on the 2-bit covers the NBC would pay for.

three students jokingly tried to buy ice cream from me. Second time, I wore it to a dance. On the way, I had to fix a flat and became covered in grease. It was not worn a third time.
