1. I've known someone who did it. Older cars that needed to be
restored.

3. I ask because someone I know did that ...
and she is shelling out a lot of money for a car in Florida. We think the dealer is giving her a run-around. I never heard of $300.00 for paperwork .She is paying $1000.00 to have it shipped here in North Carolina. I told her for $100.00 she could buy a plane ticket and drive it up herself.

4. I know someone who did. The car was exactly what he wanted
and was exactly as advertised. I don't know that I would do that myself, but his experience was good.

9. i know two people who did back in the day (the 90s)
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 03:05 PM by pitohui
both were happy, however, now that ebay is really all about powersellers and "big" businesses rather than a person to person thing, i would not be comfortable with it

both folks got plane tix to pick up their vehicles and drove them back, there were no bogus delivery fees or questionable paperwork done out of sight, these were actual real people selling vehicles they no longer needed

10. Probably would depend on the seller.
If it was a highly rated, legitimate business with many transactions and I'd already test driven the same model/year, I might. But that's a lot of "ifs."

and have done so. A boxster that was for sale about 75 miles from here. Ended up with a Miata.

12. No. It seems foolish to me. Enough problems w/used cars you can
actually test drive to make this a silly thing to do. My opinion, anyway.
