2. What about Krishna? You never hear any sports stars praise Krishna.
Know why? I quote George Carlin - "God is undefeated."

3. Or thank God for the loss
because it must have been God's will, and there must be a good reason for it.

6. See ritual sacrifice should be a must.
I mean you sacrifice the worst player on the team... That would get everyone to perform at their best.

10. Actually, Girard says there is a conenction between team sports
and ritual sacrifice. Team sports help us work out the competitive sense that used to manifest in ritual sacrifice. Honest.

11. So we used to compete to see who could sacrifice the best.
HMMM...

OH YEAH!!! we sacrificed that Woolly Mammoth over there. SO take that. I could see cavemen having that argument.

12. It all has to do with humans having violent tendencies,

and finding ritual ways to work them out. This keeps us from pummeling each other over a bad batch of cornflake-encrusted chicken or being late for staff meetings. Once we did it with ritual sacrifice, now we do it with organized sports.

13. Oh no I kill people if they are late to staff meetings.
And we have sword fights if the daily reports are not done in time.

22. Here is what I found.
At first the name Ba'al was used by the Jews for their God without discrimination, but as the struggle between the two religions developed, the name Ba'al was given up in Judaism as a thing of shame, and even names like Jerubba'al were changed to Jerubbosheth: Hebrew bosheth means "shame". 17. I'd like to hear one say, 'God had nothing to do with this'
"God can't throw a hard slider or hit the curve ball or break up a double play, and he sure as hell can't play the Monster. We put him in for late-inning defense once, and Jeter hit one off the wall and God didn't play the carom. It went for a triple, and then Jeter scored on a wild pitch. Either they trade me or God, but I'm not playing on the same ball club with that fuckin' old man."
