World Series, Game 2: Rockies vs. Red Sox: The OFFICIAL Thread
It's that time again! Time for Game 2! Time for Jimenez vs. Schilling! Time for Rockies vs. Red Sox!

Last night was rough for the Rockies, so we'll see how well they can bounce back from a 13-1 loss in Game 1. We'll also see if the Red Sox have any power lift in their bats, and if they can solve rookie pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez.

I'm pumped, in case you can't tell!

LET'S GO ROCKIES!!! *clap clap clap-clap-clap* LET'S GO ROCKIES!!! *clap clap clap-clap-clap*

7. Massively favored Bosox juggernaut set to sweep home series games
The scrappy underdog, having lost last night, seeks to salvage a little dignity after their beating at the hands of the Red Sox beast.

At $143 million dollar payroll, the 2007 Red Sox give a whole new meaning the Green Monster: lotsa green = lotsa monster!

I think the moon is actually full tomorrow night. It'll be ALMOST full though!

I'm looking forward to this game. As ill-prepared as Francis and Morales looked last night, I think Jimenez will be 100% ready for this game.

It's gonna be a good one, folks!

Edited on Thu Oct-25-07 07:20 PM by Breeze54
http://www.sun-herald.com/breakingnews.cfm?id=3728">Tonight's full moon is biggest of the year

(Last updated: October 25, 2007 11:27 AM)

The full moon tonight will appear to be much larger than usual.

It's no illusion. Tonight's moon will be the largest full moon of 2007.

That's because the moon will be closer to earth this time around than on any other orbit this year.

The moon doesn't orbit in a circle, but an ellipse that means it's never quite the same distance from earth.

In fact, tonight's orbit brings it 30,000 miles closer to earth than it is at the far extreme of its orbit.

So, when you look up Halloween night, what you'll see is a moon that is 14 percent bigger than normal

and 30 percent brighter, scientists say. And Californians will have the orangest moon they've ever

seen as seabreezes sweep massive amounts of firestorm smoke back onshore. Smoke acts as a filter

to eliminate most "cold" colors, leaving yellow, orange and reds.

This was last night's moon over San Diego.

Bullshit. It was a low outside strike that he couldn't do anything with, so he fouled it off intentionally. With two strikes, and especially with two outs and runners on, you gotta protect the plate.

I don't expect Buck to know that, but I do expect McCarver to know it.

“Steal A Base, Steal A Taco,” in which the first stolen base in the World Series lets anyone walk
into one of its outlets Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. (no time zones specified) and get a free taco.

Steal a Base, Steal a Taco at the World Series

Taco Bell Offers Free Tacos During the World Series Games

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/426319/steal_a_base_steal_a_taco_at_the_world.html
Associated Content, CO

If you like baseball and tacos, and who doesn't, pay attention to this recent press release from Hispanicprwire.com. If any player, from any team, steals a base during the 2007 Major League Baseball World Series Game, everyone in the United States will have the chance to get one free Crunchy Taco from Taco Bell. Seems pretty easy doesn't it? Well it is, and according to the history of the World Series Games, it will happen by all probability.

It doesn't matter which team you are rooting for. You should hope a player from either team accomplishes this feat! The first player to steal a base will make it possible for millions to steal one free taco. "Steal A Base, Steal A Taco" is the latest promotion by Taco Bell.

This is how the program works:

If the 1st stolen base happens during Game 1 or Game 2:

America can pick up their one free Crunchy Beef Taco on Tuesday, October 30th from 2:00pm to 5:00 pm (local time)
at all participating Taco Bell locations in one of the 50 states in the United States or District of Columbia.

If the 1st base is stolen in Game 3 through Game 7:

America can pick up their one free Crunchy Beef Taco on Tuesday, November 6th
from 2:00pm to 5:00pm (local time) at all participating Taco Bell locations
in one of the fifty states in the United States or District of Columbia.

For more information on how to claim your one free Crunchy Taco visit:

to let us all know how much you think the game sucks.

Makes no sense to me or did I not see the sarcasm tag?

63. Don't worry about him.
Just because he can't appreciate the subtlety of baseball at times doesn't mean this isn't a brilliant game. In fact, this is a GREAT game at this moment - much better than last night's contest!

I like football (soccer) after all

68. Mostly because this is NOT a boring game.
This is a very exciting game, and it's a shame you don't appreciate it the way the rest of us fans do.

The Beautiful, and others?

But it's a baseball game. Not an Independence Day concert. :)

the one that means: look at that big, slow guy with the unnecessary 12-foot lead at first base.

94. Hey, I'm not worried!
We've got the next 3 games at Coors Field. Dice-K has never pitched at altitude, so who knows what his gyro ball will do!

I'm pumped up for Game 3, for sure. I was hoping we'd be coming back to Denver with a 1-1 split, but 2-0 is still manageable.

It's like the 2 goal lead in hockey - the worst lead in all of sports. Sure, you can go up 3-0, but you can also suddenly find yourself up 2-1, and then who knows. Gotta have optimism, you know. Even if we don't win the Series, it's not a big deal. It's only a game.

Still... GO ROCKIES!!!!!!!!

96. That's the right attitude
Gotta figure the Rockies will start hitting at some point (and stop taking fastballs over the middle of the plate for strike three). Bad as they were at the plate tonight, they still had a shot at it.
