There are drops of black shit on my carpet now

my landlord came over to put a new air filter in the heating unit and dripped shit out of a step ladder all over my carpet.

I showed it to him and he didn't seem to concerned.

I thought it would wipe right up....

it isn't oily....


any ideas how to get this out????
