Audio Al Background
Audio Al is a graduate Electrical Engineer who has had a lifelong love affair with works of fiction. Early on, determined to know good from bad, he devoted himself to the classics…even while studying the technical courses that were required to earn his BSEE. He excelled in math and even completed all of that upper level math course work needed for an MSEE. Some of his favorite early authors were Charles Dickens, Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky and Emile Zola. How many other people do you know who actually read Tolstoy’s “War and Peace”? Maybe it was a result of being the son of a Russian immigrant.
Al’s favorite genre is Science Fiction. For him this does not include Fantasy, although he occasionally does read some of this too. He has read all of the Dune books including the prequels and sequels co-authored by Frank’s son, Brian, and Kevin J. Anderson. He loved Anne Rice’s Vampire and Witches series and is sad that she has gone in different direction after finding religion. He says that Rice’s writings were very rich and well done.
Al has read a goodly amount of horror and mystery/suspense novels. He is always reading something…lately with audio books so available…is always listening to something. He has read/listened to almost all of John Grisham’s novels – an easy read, he says –and prefers David Baldacci’s work. He has grown weary of Stephen King, and he has really turned off on Clive Cussler.
Al with his wife Radio_Lady Ellen have traveled much of the world and they continue to visit new places every year, but not before loading up his MP3 players with four or five new books.
