Princeton, NJ is very beautiful....even in the pouring rain
Just got back from spending a weekend there with my best friend, her daughter who is a freshman there, my parents and bf's parents who are also close friends; our families go back 43 years. Fun to go to an Ivy League football game -- the Princeton band is hilarious -- and see the town. We watched the Michigan game at Winebries (we are all Michigan alumni), had ice cream at the Halo Pub, breakfast at PJ's Pancake House, drinks at the Alchemist and Barrister, and dinner at Whitherspoon Grill. Peeked inside the Nassau Inn but didn't stay there. Parents visited the Princeton Battlefield then joined us for the game later.

Of course today -- the day we left -- was gorgeous. But we had a great time despite the weather; can't wait to go back!

4. Well, I'm surprised I'm not down with pneumonia, frankly
The pants I was wearing are still wet from the driving rain yesterday morning. But we still had fun.

5. I caused a friend to er...um...toss her cookies at the Alchemist...
I told the bartender that it was her birthday and he set us up with some extra potent shots...funny enough we started the night at Winebries. Princeton is a nice little town to hang out in

6. Ah, memories...
The guy at the table next to us was rapidly entering that same state.

Loved all the beautiful old houses in town too; so characteristic of the East. We don't do that as well here in Michigan but should.

7. It was great growing up so close to Princeton...
the dorky crowd I ran with in high school used to attend free lectures and see guest speakers all the time...good times really. I think walking around that campus as a kid really made me love the writing of F. Scott Fitzgerald later on in life

10. My sister insisted I reread This Side of Paradise before I went
And then do the F. Scott Fitzgerald tour. I didn't -- but I did see Cottage, the eating club he belonged to.

11. I love that campus, and the Dinning Clubs sure know how to party.
In fact Princeton was my first choice, but I got deferred from early admissions and then wait listed :nopity:
