They have their own way of doing things. One of them loves to sleep on my arm at night but has a habit of licking my nose while I am trying to sleep. They are a real joy to have around and should have been mentioned along with the dogs as something in my life that doesn't suck!

He's definitely pretty naughty once in a while (it's that look in the eye that gives it away, isn't it?), but overall a good kid. He's going to be 4 on Sunday and we haven't sold him to the gypsies yet, so I guess he's doing all right! :P

36. Yup, it's in his eyes.
Of course EVERY young boy is that way (speaking from experience). Ah, to be four years old again! You have fun now, he sure is going to be a handful! BTW- My Mom always used that "threat" of selling me to the gypsies!:o

38. It's even more pronounced in person, of course
Funny--my coven elder and excellent psychic labeled him "a handful" before he was even born! And, as usual, she was right! But it's all relative--he hasn't painted the cats or stuck a penny in an electric outlet or ridden his bike into a pond or bopped a preschool classmate in the face with a toy hammer. (Yet, that is.) He's BASICALLY good (and he was on the receiving end of the bopping with the toy hammer, but he was not without blame in the incident--I was there to witness it). He says "please" and "thank you" and usually does what he's told, albeit often after the fourth or fifth time with a mommyish "NOW, PLEASE!" tacked onto the request.

Ahh the gypsies--the fall guys for mothers everywhere!

31. What doesn't suck in my life:
I have a job that I mostly enjoy. I now live 1400 miles away from the source of my pain. I have found, despite the predictions of that pain source, that I actually can take care of myself. My sons love me, even if they can't see me everyday.

56. My Health
Edited on Tue Oct-30-07 06:07 PM by Mike03
I'm really fortunate here. About four years ago, several years after giving up long distance running, I started doing yoga for the first time and re-started lifting weights. Now, my flexibility and stamina are better than it was when I was fifteen years old. Now that I have a new dog, we are walking very very fast twice a day for about an hour and a half. My knees are getting better, rather than worse, as I'd feared. Then I started to give up meat and dairy, and am not totally perfect in this area, but much better. No refined foods. Mostly raw nuts, vegetables, fruit. Many people that I know are starting to run into health issues, but despite troubles in other areas of my life, I'm really fortunate in the health department--knock on wood.

The smartest decision I ever made: Yoga. It really has been a miracle in my life, and ignited so many positive changes in other areas you would never expect.
