I had some produce in the cart. He saw me with it. He even asked me if I needed help finding anything. I walked away from my cart for two minutes to go look for something, and I came back and it was fucking gone.

I went to the front to go get a new one, told the manager what happened, and he said, "Oh, I have it...I thought it was abandoned."

My Dad and I used to drive through Irvine once a week to buy grocries at the commisary on the base at El Toro. The "city" of Irvine was just a crossroads, with literally two or three buildings. The rest of the area was orange groves and the occasional strawberry field or some other crop. This was in the 1960s. It was 100% agricultural, with long, long, long rows of eucalyptus trees in between each grove.
