it seems that my new, sweet littly kitty . . .
has morphed into an *attack cat*. she likes to hide in her new kitty-condo (the box that my new shredder came in) and pounce out at me - fly though the air and hold onto my calf with all four legs then jump off and jam through the house.
scares the holy bejeebus outta me.

1. My dear Bullwinkle!
It sounds to me as though she's very happy and secure in her new home!

She also knows that you need all her attention, the little devil...

Hope she's not using her claws to hold onto you! :scared:

Enjoy...her kitten behavior will eventually vanish!

2. Train the little imp. Don't let them get away with scratching. I have
two I didn't get to train myself completely and as adults they both have bad habits I wish I could stop.

4. That's called "play aggression"
My cat used to do the same thing. The vet told me to let her know in no uncertain terms that I wasn't just a big furless cat. I had to yell at her a couple of times and I hated doing it, but it worked. She eventually forgave me for the yelling.

5. But give Kitty something else to hunt.
Mine play every night with some leather thongs at the the end of a string on a fishing pole. I like to get 'em good and riled up, as I read somewhere that this actually helps their digestion.

7. yes - i have lots of little toys for her to play with and she does . . .
i have one 'fishing-pole' kind of thing with a fur rope and feathers on the end of it - she loves it - and has torn off a few of the feathers.

she goes *psycho* every evening and it's quite funny - until she looks at me with those crazy eyes....!

17. I'd be cat food if I did.
The little bastards would eat me alive. Oh, not right away. First they'd terrify and exhaust me, then they'd make the kill.

9. your kitty thinks you are a big kitty to play with!
One of my guys as a kitten would (in the very early hours of the morning usually) come tearing into my bedroom burrow under the covers and *attack* my legs and feet with claws and teeth! Vet told me she thought I was another kitty and was playing with me like that..its a sign of affection, beleive it or not! Now, she saves the worst of the biting and scratching for her sister kitty and only occasionally claws at my feet to wake me up...:eyes:

10. One of my little warped pets scared the hell out of the FiOS installation man today
He had to move our dresser to drill a hole for some intranet toobz; it turned out Mocha was hiding under the dresser. Needless to say, she freaked, the installation man exclaimed, "Jesus!" and my other cat went and hid behind a potted plant.

Gotta love cats.

15. LOL my little 10 week old baby kitten
is doing the same. He is pouncing on me, runs right up to my face when I'm in bed and sniffs at my nose then shoots off running again. So cute

I'll post pics soon. Our digital camera broke so I'm taking pics with a disposable and I'm not done yet.

16. How old is she?
I've noticed one thing that often happens to cats when they're in that awkward stage between kitten and grown-up cat is that they turn into "attack cats." The phase seems to end as quickly as it begins, although it might take until they're about a year old or so.

18. Had the same trouble with an adopted five-month-old kitten.
She had left an unpleasant domestic situation only to find herself outnumbered by our other cats, and was pretty aggressive (mostly just playing, though). When she would dig her claws into us, we'd gently remove them, then take her over to the sisal and run her paws over that. She eventually got the idea, and within a year had calmed down--mostly.

On the other hand, a kitten play-hunting wants you to squeal and make a fuss when attacked. We frequently obliged, which may have slowed her adjustment.
