Most Unusual Kid's Halloween Costume

I didn't actually get to see this, but I went out for breakfast this morning to a restaurant I go to a lot, and the guy sitting next to me at the lunch counter was describing to the waitress his nine-year-old daughter's costume, which she chose herself:

She's going trick-or-treating as Frida Kahlo. She'd seen a newspaper article about a Kahlo exhibit, and decided that's who she wanted to be, so she put up her hair, painted a unibrow and a little moustache on her face, found a colorful dress, et voila:



The guy said she was a dead ringer.

I think that's just brilliant.

2. A girl in my son's sixth grade class chose to be Frida

when they portrayed famous people. She was perfect, I wish I had taken a camera that day. She even sat at an easel with a painting she had started, and held brushes and a palette with paint blobs!
My son has a tri-corner hat so he decided to be a young Benjamin Franklin. One of the teachers gave him this photo she had taken. It was called "The Sixth Grade Wax Museum", and the kids each gave a spiel about the person they represented as you viewed them.
