EVP? You decide

So anyway, I was looking over my old computers today looking for some evp's I had. Still looking (my old server is not booting...) and I found 4 wav files the wife made at a cemetery.

While listening to one of them I thought I heard an anomaly (the first link) so I enhanced it (amplified that section) in the second link.

The first one is a short clip taken from a 5 minute recording at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus (no edits) 5-6 seconds in you hear it. We got used to all the noises you hear (cars, birds, etc). When we listen we try to pick out things that are different (kind of like SETI and how they listen to space IMHO).

We were in the civil war section of the graveyard during this taping. The wife thinks it says "Don't Tell" I am still working on it though.

It is not nearly as good as some we have captured, but it is interesting anyway and thought I would post it.

2. I have about 1/2 hour or so of recordings from there

Lots of noises here and there, this noise stood out as it was different than all the rest.

If anyone desires I can post the entire wav for context.

seems to be just noise. That day there were a lot of noises (folder 2 had an ambulance and a plane as an example). Still working through all the folders though.

My old laptop died some time ago, had some really good ones on it which I saved to my server (which is dead...).

Have a ton of files on my old PC and another laptop I had, if I find the other ones I will post em. Still going over the raw files from the wife's recordings. If I hear anymore will post em and update you.

So I listened a few more times and got "angels", not necessarily a religious thing, maybe a name. I used to have a lot of them too, but the one you have there is pretty clear.

Picking up voices on tape (although I use Digital voice recorders, no physical tape) which should not be there.

9. Meant to add:

The ability to pick up on 'tape' what one may not hear with the naked ear (kind of like using radio telescopes to listen for signals from space that we cannot hear).

If you are familiar with MP3's then I can use that as an example. MP3's are so compact because the algorithm removes sounds we won't hear usually anyway (in the old days, and with my files, people used what are called 'wav' files - you get all the noise and such, and really large files to boot).

12. Regarding using digital recorders...

I know very little of this phenomenon, but I was under the impression that the magnetic nature of tape was why some of these 'voices' were captured. I know that microphones use magnetism to record as well, is that the principle on which this phenomenon is based? The microphones? Or is it something else? Or is it unknown?

13. Which is why I use digital and not tape

Not sure what the principle it is based on, b ut some people have gotten answers to questions they have asked on recordings, so it does not seem to be all random.

Why do you use digital as opposed to tape? If the phenomenon is based on magnetism, would tape be superior?

17. Tapes can be used only once, and digital is easier to work with for me as well

as far as loading into the computer and not having to switch tapes, etc.

I messed around with this stuff a few times through the years and got different "EVPs" through different means. Some researchers run a generated white noise in the background and they say that it gets changed to create the words. But not necessarily through electronic means, it could be changing the vibrations sort of like how we talk.
