Who else thinks that there are too many threads about George Gervin in the Lounge?
I, for one, am sick to death of hearing about him.

1. Wasn't he a basketball player nicknamed "the Iceman"?

You can't help it.

10. If David Thompson had kept his nose clean then no one would have even heard of the IceMan
Sure he could score but who couldn't score against those weak ABA defenses.

David Thompson was the greatest basketball player who ever lived. He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time: Filthy rich when cocaine was becoming popular.

4. He was the ultimate stud
He played for the San Antonio Spurs back in the 70s and 80s.

Led the league in scoring a few times.

9. That kitty would need a machine gun to take out all the assholes who start threads about Gervin
I also question the cat's effectiveness as a sniper. The key to being a good killer is spotting your target before he spots you. Wearing black in a snowstorm is just stupid.

13. The finger roll is a fine art but why all the incessant prattling about Gervin
He was just a one-dimensional basketball player from over 20 years ago.

Don't people have more important things to talk about?

12. There can never be too much George Gervin.
The Ice Man ruled!

Signed,

GOPisEvil who lived through the "Gervin scores 40, Spurs lose" era through to today when things are much better.
