Who else is working on Thanksgiving?
Edited on Tue Nov-20-07 08:26 PM by skygazer
I don't mind. I get paid extra, I work early so I'm home by 1pm and we have a potluck at work which is always kind of fun (I'm bringing a pumpkin pie :9 ). Besides, my SO does all the cooking so I'll be out of his way.

Anyone else working on Turkey Day? :hi:

7. I work at a grocery store
We're open until 6 and it's a volunteer holiday - no one HAS to work it. I always volunteer to work holidays because I work early hours and I have no family in the area so if I work, it means someone else can spend the day with their family.

Like I said, I don't mind.

And Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! :hi:

2. We don't get paid, and we can't work
How much does that suck? I will have to take one of my precious PTO (paid time off) days or have a short paycheck, just in time for holiday shopping!

3. You're working????
I didn't know that any of the supermarkets were open on Thursday. I stay out of them after Tuesday on T-day week.

If I had a job where it was possible, I'd work on Thanksgiving this year. One of our dinner guests has a shift on that day so we delayed the meal until Friday (everyone else has Friday off.)

8. We're open until 6
You wouldn't believe the number of people who come in on Thursday morning and buy a frozen turkey, thinking they're going to eat it that night.

It used to be that the only day we closed was Christmas but we're open on Christmas, too now.

I get paid triple-time to work holidays so I don't mind it a bit. :hi:

9. With a big microwave, it's possible.
I don't think that I'd care for the cooked product, but it is possible.

4. I work
I'm so used to working on Thanksgiving, so I can be off for Christmas Eve and (sometimes) Christmas day itself, it would seem strange not to work on that day! I really don't mind either.

Even after all these years, when I could finally get Thanksgiving day off, I let other people have it off who might need it or want it more. More days I can spend in Hawaii, or somewhere else, later... anyway! :hi:

The USPS (except upper management) never sleeps or
