I'm sitting in a compound in Pasay, Manila
Listening to an international world music percussionist, a world-class guitarist, and an amazing female vocalist with a strong, clear voice rehearse for a gig on Wednesday. And drinking Tanduay rum. Ask me anything...

1. Are you trying to make us jealous?
How did you end up in Manila?

2. Nope. Just wanted to let you in on my happiness.
And I came here in May on business. Then just... stayed.

And Droopy, Tanduay rum is delightful, and at 60 pesos a liter ($1.20) it does the trick nicely.

Come visit. Rum is on me.

3. Maybe I'll visit you next year when I get some vacation time
I'll need to get a passport I guess. I've never been out of America and Canada.

Just in case I decide to visit and then stay, do they have a need for truck drivers over there? I'd have to do something besides listening to music and drinking rum all the time, I guess. :)

4. Music and rum are all you need. :)
As far as jobs go, there are millions of highly qualified workers for every opening. Unless you would like to work in a call center, in which case they would love you... but only if you will work the overnight (US hour) shift.

But do come visit. I was so surprised at this country, not at all what I expected.
