Listening to the BBC and I just heard a UK political pundit describe Tony Blair with this phrase to indicate how Blair always seemed to weather political crisis with a smile or as Americans would say "Come up smelling like Roses"

I love British slang.


Of course I'm not really clear on how sitting in butter is a good thing. :shrug:
