I think I just received a secret message from China
I went to Target tonight and bought hooks for my stockings. The hooks are mounted to five separate pieces that sit on a mantle's edge and they spell the word 'PEACE' (yes, I'm a hippie!). I was very excited to buy them and put them up. When I got home, I immediately started opening the package and I noticed the little 'made in China' gold stickers affixed to the bottom of each piece (I know, shame on me). This is where it gets cool. On one of the pieces of paperboard that was part of the packaging on the inside is written in pen the word 'Peace,' and it is followed by five Chinese characters. I was stunned.

I have visions of a person in China packaging my 'peace' pieces together and writing me this message - from one person who wants peace to another. I can't stop smiling about it.

1. Bless your pea-pickin' heart
am thinking that the "message" was needed to kep all the letters together for packing purposes

BUT!

Am sure you did receive a special message from across the world...

It is that magical time of the year!

3. your interpretation isn't near as depressing as my husband's
he said that the Chinese characters probably say "these items were painted with lead paint."

still, I'm going to continue thinking it was a special message to me...
:hi:

5. thanks
for being so positive.

I'm going to keep the writing and pack it with the 'peace' hooks so I can think positively every holiday season.

4. I think the Chinese probably read
"In the name of all that's holy, get me out of this sweatshop!!"

6. When i worked in a printshop/mailroom scene..
i would sometimes catch a family members name go by(laser printers) and attach a note to it:)I would make sure the person operating the inserter was aware of this so as not to get stuck in the machine:)

I also know of a few instances when some jerks would spell nasty shit in glue on the opening tab of a mailer. It was directed to ...you can guess?
