5. Oh, it's in there...
...somewhere between Rockin' Zappa and Guitar God Zappa. The whole "My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama / Oh No / Orange County Limber Truck" suite was a life-changer for me.

BY THE WAY...do you own THIS one:

http://www.amazon.com/Ahead-Their-Time-Mothers-Invention/dp/B0000009TM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1197745762&sr=8-1

It's an archive release of the October 1968 concert at Royal Festival Hall in England, including the complete versions of "Gas Mask" and "Orange" (from "Weasels")...check out the Amazon review (link above). If you don't own it, I'm guessing you'll want to.

7. "Stuff Up The Cracks"...the first FZ song that SLAYED me.
I know that solo note-for-note. When Ryko released the initial wave of FZ on CD, Zappa revealed that many of the original master tapes were HOSED. He had to re-record various segments in the studio and dub them back into the masters. "Ruben and the Jets" was one of those masters, and I know the original vinyl album version of "Stuff Up The Cracks" so well that I always do a double-take during the CD solo. It's "close" to the original, but it's not "note-for-note."

8. Cool, never knew that. I've read where 'Crusing...' was inspiration
for Sha Na Na. And to me Sha Na Na fired the first shot against hippy rock. 'We got just one thing to say to you fuckin' hippies... and that is that rock-n-roll is here to stay!'
