I just remembered that a friggin' Nor'easter is headed this way in the wee hours of the morning.

Snow, wind, rain, sleet... you name it and now I have to go back out THERE

and go to the store and I just put dinner on... :argh:

I was all set, or so I thought... gheesh!

But I'm not going without Bacardi tonight and all day tomorrow without cigs !! :grr:

2. Where are you? I thought it
was coming in around 4 AM?

Are you in New York? DC?

Now I'm pissed. I have to pull on my boots again and warm up the car and....

I know... I'm whining. :grr: (sorry)

6. You poor kid! We're only getting about 4-5 inches here and
that will turn to slush by mid morning with all the rain predicted.

I'm 20 miles west of Boston (give or take a few miles)

I heard NH was getting about 2 FT of snow tomorrow!

I feel lucky compared to them!

7. Snowing here -- just started.
It will be pretty....but why so much? And why can't it come on Monday? I like snow days and a Saturday/Sunday snowstorm gives them way too much time for removal in time for Monday commute.

Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 09:56 PM by Breeze54
Yeah, you have a lot more to deal with then we do.

2 feet of snow is a helluva lot of snow!

Hopefully, you have what you need to hunker down for the day.

I hope all your roads are cleared by Monday morning.

Thursday here in Beantown was a friggin' nightmare!

The new school super. in Boston (from TN?) didn't send the kids home early enough
and they were stuck on school busses, in traffic, until 9 PM at night before they
got home or before the busses showed up at the schools to pick them up!

You'd think she would have known better!
The parents were royally pissed and I don't blame them at all.

Huge gaffe by the powers that be! Idiots!

I hope you fair better and we only had about 10-12 inches of snow!

Not much snowfall, by SOP in MA but it brought the city to a stand still.

9. Hi petersond! I just got back and my hands are numb...
it's damn cold out there! 21 degrees and nobody is out.

I saw only 4 cars gassing up... I skidded on ice exiting

the shopping plaza but all is well. It's already there?

Yeah, your in MO. ... I'm on the east coast.

I don't think we're going to get the winds but Cape Cod will.

I'm not worried about it. I'm staying in all day tomorrow!

We have a Patriots game to watch at 1 pm! :D

They've been shoveling snow at Foxboro all day and plowing the field.

You stay safe and warm too!! ;)

my browser weather thingy just said it's 21 degree's and feels like 21 or so I thought.

But after I read your post, I checked again and it says 21 degree's but "feels like 12 degree's"

That explains my numb hands! :P

We don't have any wind here yet...but it's coming!

16. I remember that wind when I lived in Illinois on a farm...
Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 09:00 PM by Breeze54
... the wind was brutal way out there in the boonie-boonie's.

I thought New England was bad during the winter but Illinois was really bad that year.

But the wind has a way of ripping between the buildings here and is just as cold! Brr!

But out on that farm, the snowdrifts had nothing to block them and would go right up the side of the house!

It was damn cold!!

I needed to replenish 'the bar' and the cigs for this blast! :P
We have plenty of food here but there's never enough booze
or cigs when you're holed up in your house during a Nor' easter. ;)

here in Rocfester.

Tomorrow is my husband's birthday. He had a recording gig out of town that just got cancelled due to the weather--yay!

I'm thinking good thoughts for those that have to travel tomorrow. Be safe; if you don't have to go, don't go . . .

20 counties are now under advisories, watches, or severe weather warnings.

http://www.thebostonchannel.com/severeweather/946896/detail.html

Winter Weather Advisory:

Issued at: 4:40 PM EST 12/15/07, expires at: 12:45 AM EST 12/16/07

Winter weather advisory in effect from 1 am to 3 pm est sunday,

The NWS in taunton has issued a winter weather advisory, which is in effect from 1 am to 3 pm est sunday.

Steady snow will overspread the advisory area just after midnight. The snow will gradually mix with sleet late, before changing to sleet and freezing rain during Sunday morning.
The precipitation is expected to change to a windswept rain around noon Sunday. Snow and sleet accumulations are expected to range from 1 to 3 inches, with locally 4 inches possible. A light glaze of ice will be possible on top of the expected snow and sleet accumulation. The precipitation intensity will taper off significantly as the afternoon progresses.
A winter weather advisory is issued when snow and/or ice is forecast to develop in the affected areas, but accumulations are expected to be light. Any snow or ice would make driving and walking difficult but not impossible on untreated roadways and sidewalks. When temperatures are below freezing, motorists need to be especially careful on bridges and overpasses where slippery spots can easily develop.

Western Norfolk County

Wind Advisory:

Issued at: 4:41 PM EST 12/15/07, expires at: 12:45 AM EST 12/16/07

wind advisory in effect from 9 am to 9 pm est Sunday

The NWS in taunton has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect from 9 am to 9 pm est Sunday.
A noreaster will bring periods of strong wind to rhode island and eastern massachusetts Sunday.
This advisory includes the cities of boston, brockton and providence.
Northeast winds will be averaging 30 to to 35 mph for a few hours during the midday hours Sunday with scattered gusts to 50 mph. This may cause scattered power outages.
The wind will diminish during mid or late Sunday afternoon as the intense storm center crosses buzzards bay into the cape cod canal plymouth region of southeast massachusetts.
Thereafter, southwest winds should average around 30 mph at times, with gusts to 45 mph during Sunday evening.
A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds this strong are capable of downing small tree limbs and branches, possibly causing isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

So, we won't be getting much snow at all... just some rain and gusty winds.

Stay warm and dry, all you New Yorkers! :hi:

29. We have snow but not much... and no wind that I can detect.
At least not wind that I can hear. If I can't hear it or see it...

it isn't there and I did go look but the tree's are motionless.

But there is some snow on the cars. Maybe it's just getting started?

We'll see.
