I like my Christmas movies somewhere within ten days of Christmas. I like to watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Mr. Magoo, Going My Way, with Bing Crosby and Barry Fitzgerald, (I love Barry Fitzgerald) The Bells of St. Mary's, It's a Wonderful Life, All of the Christmas Carol versions, Frosty the Snowman, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
I grew up with all of these movies and television shows. It used to be that they were showed real close to Christmas. But now they like to show all of these like the day after Thanksgiving, and I'm still digesting turkey, and not even thinking about Christmas, let alone in the mood, yet. And by the time I'm in the full swing of Christmas, some two weeks out, all the shows have been shown.
So, what are the brainiacs in L.A. and N.Y. going to program from two weeks or so away from this great holiday? MSNBC's Have a Merry To Catch a Preditor Christmas? How about an American Idol Christmas with Sanjay? Or a special CSI Christmas, with a dead Santa?
I don't know what programming is like where all of you live, but a few days ago I checked programming for my satellite package, and none of the shows I mentioned above are scheduled, and it doesn't make much sense to me.
Looks like I will miss out this year. Next year I'll know better and will just rent all of those shows, to be on the safe side.
