It's a Christmas miracle!
The plumber came, and everything is now draining properly!

ps He pulled the most UNGODLY clump of hair out of the bathtub drain. :scared:

3. handy hint for the future
My mom taught me this trick, get a set of needle-nosed pliers, the longer the better and every couple of weeks or so reach down into the drain as far as you can and pull up blobs of hair before they get that bad. My teenager has hair like Cousin It and when we don't regularly do this the drain gets all gross.

Glad your tub is free and clear so you'll be able to enjoy a *fresh and clean* holiday. :-P

6. Have you seen these. It's what we use now.
I used to use the plyer method..when I could find what my DH did with the needle nose pliers. A couple years ago, we ran across the zip thingies at some big box home improvement store for a couple bucks. (I see the website has the list of stores that carry them)

They work great. I don't dispose each time we use it since we use it probably once a week now. A paper towel removes the gunk/hair. We wait until the little prongs are worn and then pitch it. Sure beats using chemicals.
