I can say that I do not believe that I have many "secrets" left... and those that I have, I can deal with them in ways that work.

Not perfect by any stretch, and I get down and feel bad more than I care to admit, but the truth is that it could be much worse.

It's a learned response. I trust me, my cat, and maybe the wall. It's the way it goes, y'know. Ok, I trust one or two others, but they're not around so...Up shit creek without a mother f'n paddle. It's ok, life goes on and tomorrow is another day. :)

and until it was a matter of life and death literally for me to trust someone, I was afraid to do so.

I still have a hard time, but I live with a problem that could easily kill me if I am not able to be open with someone.

almost daily. I have a few friends I can talk to, but not enough. There are a few huge secrets I'm carrying around, and I can't even tell them to my sister, who is certainly my closest female friend. I never thougth my life would be like this, and it's more interesting and difficult to handle than I could have imagined. Sometimes I think the biggest luxury in the world would be the ability to talk freely.

My closest confidant is 500 miles away, I am with my dh, 24/7, no Friends where I currently live, am trying the whole internet thing, still too shy to talk to anybody here, I don't know maybe it will get better.I have been crying for no reason other than complete loneliness, I miss having friends, the coma dre` of a female friend. I work with all men, including my hubby. Making new friends is hard to do the older you get, at least it feels that way.
I taken up talking to myself, and isn't that just wonderful!!!!
I hope your friend comes back soon, and you have a great time when she does!!!
