I know it's late and it's probably already been done, but.....
Did you get anything really AMAZING for Christmas???

Mine: Hubby got us tickets to see Wicked in St. Louis on Dec 21st. My first "Broadway show" that I've ever seen. It was fabulous!! The theater was beautiful and it was packed...sold out in fact. Looking to go again in May (graduation present :) ) I love this musical and can't wait to see it again.

Anybody else???

4. Something I can enjoy, use every day, -AND- feel proud of as a "liberal" who cares about the planet:

My Sweetie and her whole family went together to buy me the little
scooter. It's certainly a PRACTICAL gift- With the price of gasoline,
using it instead of the car for everyday errands around town should
let us break even on its price in less than two years.

When we were discussing it, I knew it weren't no Harley...but I
figured my big macho male EGO could keep its mouth shut in return
for 100mpg, even if I looked kinda silly riding it around.

Now that I have it, I'm completely certain that I -DO- look silly
riding it around. But you know what? I don't care, because this
thing is FUN AS HELL!

It's just a 49cc motor- back when I was a kid, we had chainsaws
with bigger motors! I expected I'd need to push along with my feet
to help it out.

But I guess engine technology has come a long way in 25 years,
because this little putt-putt motor is hauling all 210 lbs of me
with no trouble. I can go from 0 to 35 in half a block.
(Not that I would EVER do that on my street, since the speed limit
is 25, donchaknow...wink wink!

I honestly think this might be the most FUN "practical gift" I have gotten
since I was a small child.

7. Not just in "good" fun do I plan to enjoy it.
I'm kind of an asshole sometimes....

I'm planning to REGULARLY putt-putt up to the gas station
during their "high traffic" period every single day,
just so I can stand patiently in line at the cash register
for five minutes awaiting the opportunity to announce in a clear,
firm tone: "I had twenty-five CENTS on pump number five".

Then I'll drop a quarter on the counter, and try to keep
a straight face until I get my helmet on as I walk out.

Honda "Metropolitan" scooter in "Gothic" colors: $2289
Scorpion 3/4 face helmet, size XXl: $129
Gasoline: 25¢
Expression on the face of the guy behind
me who just topped off his Hummer: PRICELESS.

Have I ever mentioned that I'm kind of an asshole sometimes?

6. My daughter gave me a spa day. Five hours of various massage
and facials & manicure and pedicure plus lunch. It's SO not me, and I'm going to love it SO much!

8. I got nice things for Christmas.
I did not ask for much, because we try to keep it simple.

My youngest got me some canvas bags to use at the grocery store, so I can avoid all that paper and plastic. I got a Dr. John CD, and some earrings. My oldest daughter forgot to bring the presents, but she will be back next week. I think she got me some Marcia Ball music, but we will see.

It is great that you got to see Wicked. I saw it at the Oriental in Chicago. It was great fun!
