There is a quote from the first Dune novel that I like, but I don't know the whole thing. It goes something like, "Fear is the mind killer, (some other stuff) that brings total obliteration." To me, it's about recognizing your fears, letting them wash over you, and through you and then pass out of you; feeling them, and letting them go, knowing they're only fears, and of them selves can not harm you, unless you let them consume you, and stop you from living.

I'm not sure who you feel you may need to forgive. Forgiving myself was the hardest act of forgiveness I ever had to do. Other people can hurt you, but if you lock yourself away so as to avoid being hurt, you lock yourself away from love and affection too.
