Surfing the Golden Gate Bridge

A surfer rides a wave churned by a winter storm underneath the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, in San Francisco Bay. A fierce arctic storm pounded California on Friday, threatening to soak mudslide-prone canyons already charred by wildfires and to paralyze the mountains with deep snow.

2. There are frequently people with boards there hoping for a wave but
it's rare I've ever seen anyone getting much of a ride.

4. what part if small craft warning does this guy not get
I sure hope our locals don't have to rescue anyone doing something this stupid. The currents under the bridge are very dangerous. 2 bridges were closed yesterday due to high winds and surf. dangerous surf = deadly surf in these parts.

5. Not to mention, it's not uncommon for Great White sharks to hang out there.

7. I think they tend to stay on the ocean side of the bridge, but they
are in the area ... particularly near the Farallones Islands west of the Golden Gate.

Here is a prank photo that made the rounds not long ago:
