1. Does your non-support have anything to do with the fact that she's female?
If so, then yes. If not, then no. That's my take on it, anyway.

15. i dont think thats entirely true. sexism is more subtle than that.
i think for instance, if you find her too assertive but are ok with most assertive men. you find her to be too much of a politician, but were fine with bill, you might want to re evaluate what you find acceptable in men vs women.

(by you i dont mean you, i mean one)

22. This is a good point.
I guess that maybe we're saying the same thing, but in a different way? I mean, I agree with you, if the traits you dislike her for are ones that you'd find acceptable in a man, then that's sexism...

2. not necessarily
you are sexist if you don't support her for reasons you'd never attribute to a man

3. Of course you are.
Haven't you been reading all the posts from her supporters? If you don't like her, you're sexist. If you vote for her strictly because you want a woman president, you're making an informed choice based on the issues.

4. Seems like to me

the whole attitude towards the issue is sexist.

It's like saying the only reason to consider Sen. Clinton is her gender....

How about we ignore the fact that she has a vagina, and select candidates based on merit - and issues...

6. Only if you don't support her BECAUSE she's a woman.
On the other hand, if you don't support her because of her record, and because of her current stand on things, then no.

I don't support her because I think she's in too deep with the corporations, and I'm utterly sick and tired of this country being of, by, and for the corporations.

I want my fucking country back!

18. Actually, SeattleGirl, { and I'll e sure and whisper here,
so as not to upset her supporters} I was just sort of half joking - I don't support her because of her positions, but then I didn't support her husband (in the primaries either). I have no problem with her as a person.

10. Absolutely. Also, you're a racist if you don't support Obama.

And you hate Mexicans if you don't support Richardson. You're intolerant of other religions if you don't support Huckabee or Romney.

I think the charge of sexism is because people are holding HRC to a different standard than the male candidates without realizing it. Obama is assertive, Clinton is a bitch. Edwards is urgent, Clinton is hysterical. Other candidates are campaigning aggressively while Clinton is mud-slinging. Also, people tend to discount her contributions during the Clinton presidency because, unlike all the other unelected advisers, Hillary was just his wife.

11. not if you are NOT supporting her because of her politics
If your issue is that her eyes bulged during the debate or that she is too assertive or some other weird double standard than you may be sexist.

that goes for any Democrat as well. Terrorists win when the Democrats win.

But by DU (GD-P) standards, I'm a neo nazi piece of shit for supporting her and not thinking that Obama is greatest man to walk on water.

Just because Hillary's a female, that doesn't automatically make her the best representative of women.

Of course you're not.

Arguably, it would be sexist to support Clinton JUST because she's a woman.

24. Exactly
that is my point. Unfortunately this false argument has colored a whole lot of things. And it is applicable to the Obama/black thing too. Any time there is something intangible that one likes/dislikes about one of these candidates without being able to "put their finger on it", it will be labled sexism/racism by some people.
