I See Red, People.
Help me Loungerz... I have this crazy fundie uncle who keeps sending me the most fucked up emails... I'm fuming at this last one and want to call him to give him a piece of my mind and block any further emails from this moran. I have gently explained and asked him not to send me this type of junk. I've even sent him to check out snopes.com so that he can fact check before forwarding to everyone in his email address book, but he just doesn't get it. I have already had a hugh blowout with others from this side of my family and we haven't seen each other or spoken in over two years. I'm not usually confrontational and tend to hold my tongue and let this crap slide, but I'm at THAT point with him... The man can't even spell Atheist or Allegiance correctly, GAAAAH!

What would you do/say in response if he was a member of your family?

:grr::banghead::nuke::mad::nuke::banghead::grr:

Sorry... had to vent. The steam is still pouring from my ears!!!

Here's the link to the last OP I wrote about this asshole titled, "FREEPER LOGIC: An Email from my Deranged Fundie Uncle" http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=2337395

And, here is his latest gem... :puke:

Who is Barack Obama?

Something that should be considered when you make your choice.

If you do not ever forward anything else, please forward this to all
your contacts...it is very scary to think of what could lie ahead for us
here in our own United States...better heed this and pray about it and share it.

We checked this out on " snopes.com". It is factual. Check for yourself.

Who is Barack Obama?

Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born
in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM
from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white Athiest from
Wichita, Kansas.

Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two
years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His

mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.
When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama
attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a
Catholic school.

Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is
quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also
attended Catholic school."

Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that

that he is not a radical.

Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this
influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned
to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct
influence over his son's education.

Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham,
introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school
in Jakarta.

Wahabism is the RADICAL ISLAMIC teaching that is followed by the Muslim
terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since
it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major
public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined
the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim
background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he
DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.

Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegience nor

will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands

over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.

Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential
candidacy.

The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside
out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the
President of the United States, one of their own!!!!

Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man leading
our country?...... NOT ME!!!

1. The funny part is: We checked this out on " snopes.com" ...
which proves each of them WRONG! I guess the original author thought putting that in is the same as "Doctor Recommended" so it must be OK.

I think that the only thing my favorite uncle retained from our last conversation was, "At least, check it on snopes.com before you send this crap out to people. It makes you look like a dumb ass!".

UGH

I put up with a lot of crap living in Indiana, but when I can't even open my email without reading this kind of stuff it just gets me MAD AS HELL!

:hi:

Edited to add... Your sig line Rawks!!!

2. Oh dear gods in heaven
That really does win a prize. Even beats out my favorite "stupid missive of the day", a letter to the editor in our local Gannett rag, which I was going to post...but it can't compete. I'll just add it here for additional headsmacking goodness. :banghead:

Female president won't be accepted

Soon we will be voting for a person to represent the United States throughout the world. In our country, it is wonderful that a woman can participate in almost all things as an equal. This does not apply to the rest of the world. The world outside of America does not want to deal with a woman as an equal.

Other cultures consider the female as a second-class citizen at best. Read the papers and you can see that the female in many cases is at best "chattel." Recently, Kurdish leaders rebuffed Condoleezza Rice. How can we hope to remain a strong country, leading others, when we have women representing us to cultures that do not even recognize them as citizens? How can we elect a female president and expect the rest of the world to respect us?

I believe that whoever our next president is, it should not be a female. Women should not represent us on an international level. American culture can accept it; other cultures cannot.

I suspect this rocket scientist has never really checked how many female leaders there are...in countries more openminded than our own, thanks to clowns like this.

HILLARY'S FIRST NIGHT AS PRESIDENT

Hillary Clinton was sworn in today as President.
She has disposed of Bill and is spending her first night alone in the White House.
She has waited several years for this.

FIRST NIGHT

Suddenly! The ghost of George Washington appears to her, and Hillary says, 'How can I best serve my country?'

Washington says, 'Never tell a lie.'

'Ouch!' Says Hillary, 'I don't know about that.'

SECOND NIGHT

The next night, the ghost of Thomas Jefferson appears...

Hillary says, 'How can I best serve my country?'

Jefferson says,

'Listen to the people.'

'Ohhh! I really don't want to do that.'

THIRD NIGHT

On the third night, the ghost of Abe Lincoln appears... Hillary says, 'How can I best serve my country?'

Lincoln says,

'Go to the theater.'

------ End .

D the SO is reading my 1st Ed. copy of "The Hot Zone" and wants to know if moving to the top of Michigan's lower peninsula is moving north enough!

GAWD I love that she is catching my paranoia FINALLY. We are planning our weekend trips to the Traverse area to look at medium sized properties, and we'll buy the first greenhouse module next month.

By the way, she just called, and will be Googling the MLS system including CEDAR, even as we speak.

I had an unexpected phone call from a good artist/designer/computer Geek friend of mine from up near Mancelona last night. He is so busy with his businesses that he asked if I would come be his personal assistant, bookkeeper, chef, and barista so that he could spend more time working. It was a very tempting offer!:)

35. Great...I look forward to hearing from you!
Bird flu is not something to be overly worried about unless D is kissing the chickens! Cook the poultry well and you'll be fine.

Years ago (while still living in CA. and in our mid twenties), as we prepared for a Christmas visit to Ohio, I was hit with the flu-bug from hell. I can remember sitting on the bed trying to stuff wrapped gifts into my bag and just sobbing because I felt so ill. I was so sick that I called Mr Green Meanie at work, that morning, to let him know that I might be sitting this trip out. He accused me of not wanting to go see the in-laws. We argued. I sobbed more. Two hours later he calls... "I've been laying on the floor for a half hour, I'm going to try and get out to my car so that I can drive home." He got hit with it fast... apologized when he got home and immediately set about canceling our flight. We were deathly ill for two weeks. We had friends dropping Gatorade, ginger ale, and canned chicken noodle soup off on our doorstep and even hung a QUARANTINE sign on the front door. Thankfully, I had a very nice Pharmacist friend who dropped off a giant unlabeled glass bottle of red liquid (cough syrup laced with codeine). So, we were able to sleep through the worst of it.

I hope you all are over your "Cold That Kills" soon! :grouphug:

Subject:?Pell Grant

?This is a subject close to my heart. Do you know that we?have adult students

?at the school where I teach who are not US?citizens and who get the ?PELL grant,

?which is a federal grant (no pay back?required) plus other?federal grants to go

?to school? One student from the?Dominican Republic?told me that she didn't

?want me to find a job for her?after she finished my?program, because she was

?getting housing from our housing?department and she?was getting PELL grant

?which paid for her total tuition?and books, plus?money left over.

She was looking into WAIT which gives students a CREDIT?CARD for gas to come
to school, and into CARIBE which is a special program for?immigrants and it
pays for child care and all sorts of needs while they go?to school or?training.

?

The one student I just mentioned told me she was?not going to be a US citizen

because she plans to return to?the Dominican Republic someday?and that she

'loves HER country.' I asked her if she felt?guilty taking?what the US is giving

her and then not even bothering to?become a citizen?and she told me that it

doesn't bother her, because that?is what the money?is there for!

I asked the CARIBE administration about their program and if you ARE a US?citizen,

you don't qualify for their program. And all the?while, I am?working a full day,

my son-in-law works more than 60?hours a week, and?everyone in my family

works and pays for our education.

Something is wrong here. Right? COMING SOON!

?I am sorry but after hearing they want to sing the?National Anthem in
Spanish - enough is enough. Nowhere did they sing it in?Italian, Polish,
Irish (Celtic), German or any other language because of?immigration.

?

It was?written by Francis Scott Key and should be sung word for
word the way it was written The news broadcasts even gave
the translation -- not even close.

Sorry if this offends anyone but this is MY COUNTRY -

IF?IT IS YOUR COUNTRY?SP EAK UP --

please pass this along. I am not against?immigration -- just
come through like everyone else. Get a sponsor; have a place to

lay your?head; have a job; pay your taxes, live by the rules

?

AND?LEARN THE LANGUAGE

as all other immigrants have in the past -- and

?

GOD BLESS?AMERICA!

?PART OF THE PROBLEM
Think about this: If you don' t want to forward this for?fear of offending?someone --

YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM!

?It is Time for America to Speak up

?If you agree -- pass this along, if you don't agree --?delete it!

?Yep, I passed it on.

Subject: Fwd: Pell Grant

NWC,
Is this true?? I was just curious.? Thanks.
Happy New Year.
Love,
Mother

------

Good morning, Mom! Federal Pell Grants are ONLY given to US citizens or eligible noncitizens (i.e. ones who have green cards and pay taxes in the US and are here legally) who qualify based on the FAFSA form. When the FAFSA form is filed, the Department of Homeland Security's US Citizenship and Immigration Services bureau performs a database match for eligible noncitizens to confirm citizenship status, and if there is not a match, the student does not qualify. US citizens are matched against the Social Security Administration's citizenship database, and any problems prevent the student from getting aid of any sort until the problems are resolved.

Illegal immigrants and legal immigrants without permanent resident status are NOT eligible for any type of Federal or state (at least in NC) funds, including Federal Pell Grants. I have not heard of WAIT or CARIBE and cannot find any information about either program. There are some grant programs through private agencies that might be available for students whose status prevents them from getting Federal or state aid, but those are purely private funds and have no taxpayer funding whatsoever.

To be honest, it sounds like the person that wrote that piece did not have all of his facts straight. :) Sounds like he's talking out of his ass. :P

NWC

ROFL! Thanks for that clarification. I have presented (Husband) with your response and he is sending an angry response to the guy who sent him the original email. I think (Husband) is finally getting the point. :)

just start sending him articles with facts.

He seems to think it important to keep you on his group mail list, so you can email him truth whenever you feel like it.

Maybe start with articles that define bigotry, and then move on up to fact-checked articles about politics and politicians ;)

oh...and when he sends you garbage that lies about checking thing in Snopes (or needs to be checked in Snopes), use Reply All with the real Snopes link.
