foolish me thought it read "Who has You on Ignore" - and I thought ... "how would I know unless I asked" - so I started asking on the thread (just being silly) and then I re read the OP and blushed - my little posts now seem more than quite absurd. Oops. But hey I had a little time to lounge (not common these days) and we got to cross paths. Makes my faux pas (sp) worth it. Don't think of it as 1.5 years to go - think of it as 1 in 4 down/done! Congrats to you. I hope that you find as much intellectual stimulation and camraderie in your program as I found in mind. It was a great (poor, but great) period of my life - and I can honestly say that some of who I am professionally is not because of that degree (or my work prior to that degree) but because of the interactions and stretching I had to do to keep up with my peers in the program. They were great - and they stretched what would have been growth into much more growth. I hope you are finding a simialr rewarding (though hard and a pain in the butt) experience.

In the, just over 6 months, I've been posting on DU, 6 or 7 people had made it to my ignor(anc)e list and 4 of them were TS'd. On January 1st I removed the remaining few... new year start overs. It only took one trip over to GD and my favorite ass is already back on the list.

I've never actually gotten into it with anyone here... all on my list were just rude, argumentative, and arrogant pricks who showed up to bash and name-call in every damn thread I clicked on. Funny, whenever there's a flamewar I can usually guess exactly which ignored it is based upon the responses.

There are some people whose manner of posting disgusts me enough that I have no wish to interact with them further. Some are people that have infuriated me by slandering/maligning vulnerable minorities like women, poor people, the homeless, GLBTs, etc. Others are people whose opinions on issues I find too personally upsetting to tolerate, and therefore Ignore is the easiest way to avoid them (like pro-lifers). I don't think that I have anyone on Ignore because of a direct personal conflict--that's not how I operate. If you truly piss me off enough (whether you're talking to me or not), I'm not going to fight with you or confront you, I'm going to Ignore you.
