The teens are scary but DAMN the parents are even scarier!

I now see that Dina Lohan and Lynne Spears are not anomolies.

When I was working out in the gym, there was this one poor girl who had her mom chewing her out for being lazy about working out on the treadmill next to her. Jeezus fucking fuck!

And when I go to and from my room I don't see teens hanging out and having fun, but groups being shuttled by angry bleached blonde soccer moms from hell.

1. My father used to push me to get my younger daughter into modeling
She was absolutely adorable and photogenic (think Drew Barrymore in the ET era). I never even considered it, first because I preferred her to just be a kid, second because I'd have been too damn lazy to ferry her all over creation for auditions, etc. but mostly because I could never be like that. :scared:

2. True story about a kid who went to class with one of my nephews
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 11:30 AM by LynneSin
How many times when we were kids did we tell our parents we wanted to be an Actor or a Rock Star or something outlandish like that.

One of the kids who use to go to school with my nephew decided that's what he wanted to do. Was the kid serious? Was it a passing phase - who knows? Sure the kid was cute and could do a little song & dance, but so can millions of other kids around the globe.

So what does the mother do? Uproots the kid along with his 2 siblings and decides to move to California to get this kid into show business. All fine and dandy except California cost of living is much much much more expensive than 'T-zone' Pennsylvania COL. So they end up living in an RV park in a trailer somewhere near Hollywood instead of the nice 4 bedroom house they have back in PA. The other 2 kids aren't really interested in the show business but have to go with mom.

Why in God's name would anyone put their kids thru that is beyond me? The kid had never done anything remotely TV/Movie/Theater related except the same stuff my own nephew did with chorus & school plays. Parents easily could have kept the kids in Pennsylvania and go to NYC for auditioning - that's only a train ride away. Instead the mom basically blew the entire savings and absolutely nothing came out of it.

BTW dad - he was a local community elected official and yes, a republican.
