1. He never got whipped but he really was called Brother until he entered first grade
His Aunt was the 1st grade teacher an told he and the entire classroom his real name. His VERY older siblings continued to call Brother his entire life. It was so prevalent a name in our family, my brother called me brother. He added the Buzz bit, too.

4. No, but we did adopt a runt of a dog named Junior
She was a cool dog.

Oh wait, my son has an uncle named Terry (for Tercious, Latin for third) but everyone calls him Fisher except his mother. Her maiden name is the same as my great-grandmother's maiden name and they both received the same married name, yet, fortunately for the genealogy types in the family, they are not related.

My grandfather married someone with the same name
And his brother married my grandmother's sister...also the same name.

Luckily not related.

3. I wonder if there are countries were the man gets the name of his wife

I first thought that this happens in Italy, but it seems they both just keep their names.
