1. Mine's the same as my stepbrother's.
Just coincidence. Really. Has nothing to do with the fact that we're both geeks and we both thought of the same number. :P

13. Yup.
Which is why 3141 would be one of the last numbers I'd pick for a PIN! The others would be 1234 and 1379 (look at your phone keypad if the reason not picking 1379 isn't obvious). It would be rather like choosing "password" as a password.

29. well, it used to be
the name of my third dog. (JAVA)

now, of course, it's a randomly picked one. And sure enough, I am exhausted this morning from watching New Hampshire in a bar, and I get to 7-11 to buy my vitamin water and red bull, and I can't remember it. I draw a total and complete blank. feel like a freaking idiot.

I still can't remember it, now that I have the wrong number in my head, I can't remember the right one. curses.

44. Yeah, I went with the one my bank randomly selected as well
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 04:21 PM by FloridaJudy
Turned out it was a number of some significance to me, though not one anyone else could easily guess - such as a date. I've now had it so long it's permanently engraved on my brain (though I frequently forget where I parked my blooming car).

I used to work for an organization that would randomly assign numerical passwords. To be extra secure they changed them every few months. As a result, absolutely no one could remember his or her password. Almost everyone had to write it down and leave it somewhere near his or her computer station, thereby making it unbelievably easy to hack. I've got to add this one to the "What were they thinking?" file.

Edited to add: the geniuses who came up with this system were some no-bid contractors who were cronies of our then governor: Jeb Bush. Why am I not surprised?

32. .
When I lived in another state many years ago, I used to belong to a group that issued membership numbers. I dropped some random digits, added some more and then scrambled them up in no particular order.

I've also used the name of someone else's (not family member, significant other, close friend or co-worker) decades dead pet.
