I almost ran over my neighbor's dog today.
This is one of the dogs that is always out loose, has ended up running in to my open garage at times, and pees in my bushes.

x(

The guy lives 3 doors down from me, always lets his dogs out with no leashes, and I am quite frankly surprised that he still has living dogs.

x(

I am going to write him a note, because, I am sure, I would have had to pay to replace the damn dog, had I run it over (he has dachsunds, and I am sure they are pedigreed).

13. LOL. Have any of you seen the movie "Keeping Mum" with Maggie Smith as

the murdering mother?

If so, you might remember what happened to the little yapping Jack Russell (?) terrier that lived next door and bothered her daughter.

But I digress...

5. Glad you missed....
My little dog escaped out the back door tonight and fled to the woods, missing for 45 minutes before limping (frost foot) up the hill in the yard. There was no way I could go chase her down in the woods tonight, but thankfully she came home.

Your neighbor is very lucky his dogs are still running around. I never let mine out loose since we don't have a fenced area. They are always leashed, unless they escape (like tonight).
:hi:

6. That's odd... there's a couple that lives a couple of blocks away...
that always lets their daschunds run about sans leash. Maybe they think they're too small to get into trouble?

14. Dachshunds should never be out loose
They chase anything that moves and it is hard to see them from the car. No one who really loves the long little dogs would neglect them like this.

When you talk to your neighbor tell him about dachshund rescue. Sounds like he really doesn't want them, and rescue has lots of people who would love them and protect them.
