A woman tries to justify that it wasn't her fault her gay son killed himself when she told him all that horrible stuff that misguided Christians believe about homosexuality (I say misguided because I am Christian and I recognize the fact that homosexuality is so taken out of context in the bible)

The worst part is the mother actually admitted "But if I had been nicer and said I didnt mind, he probably wouldnt have killed himself" and these idiots STILL tell her she did the right thing.

And his mama did wrong, but she thought she was doing right and that, to my mind is part of the tragedy. People, gay and straight are occasionally painfully rejected by their parents and not all of them kill themselves, is what I was thinking. I was not thinking that biblically-inspired hate and bigotry are commendable or even acceptable.

I can't imagine how horrible it would be to lose a child that way, particularly if one contributed to that child's despair. Personally, I'd probably like the strangle the fool woman for being such a judgmental jerk, but I expect having to live with what she did is punishment enough.

I think I'd be a little sad to find out my child was gay - not because there's anything wrong with that, but because gay people have a tougher time in this warped society. You always hope your kids will be spared from cruelty. But I certainly wouldn't love him or her any less, and I'd hope my child found a caring partner to help with the rougher times.

Now if my child confessed to being Republican, I'd really be upset. I'd be tearing my hair out, and lamenting "Where did I go wrong!?"
