2. On my maternal side, 1925.
I never knew my paternal grandparents, but since my biological father was a bit older than my mother, and both my paternal grandparents are dead, I'm guessing they were both older than my maternal grandparents.

4. 1898
I was lucky enough to know my great grandparents on my maternal grandmother's side, though both were losing their mental faculties by the time I was able to talk with them. My great grandmother always wanted one of her girls to play the violin, and none did until I started taking lessons. She died a short while after I played for her for the first time. Grandma said that I'd made Nana very happy that day. I'm so glad I did... :D

My youngest great-grandparent was born one year before that.

The grandparents (father's father) is dead, but the great-grandparent (mother's mother's mother) is still alive.

both were dead by the time I was born, unfortunately, and we never talked about it b/c no birthdays were celebrated. I know my maternal grandmother was 1905, paternal grandmother was earlier than that - perhaps late 1890s.

82. 1915 (Only living grandparent)
My mom's mom was born in 1915.
My other grandparents died back when I was kid. They were actually older than her.
I have no idea when my other three grandparents were born, so I'm just listing the one I have left.
I'm 28.

83. My maternal grandmother was born in 1896, but my grandfather was significantly older
I don't actually know how much older, but I'm guessing about 20 years, so approximately 1876.

95. 1917, my maternal grandfather
He passed away in 1979, one year before I was born. My paternal grandfather, born in 1920, died in 1968. Both grandpas died from cancer, as did my dad, who was 53 when he died 4 years ago. Longevity isn't prevalent among the men in my family.

Both my grandmothers (1918 - maternal & 1926 - paternal) are still living.
