How many texts do your kids make a month?
Or how many do you do?

My daughter is on track to make over 1500 this past month. Does she have a problem?

1. It's only a problem if your cel phone plan doesn't have unlimited texting... :)

2. She's been good about that.
We started with a 750 plan for her and a 250 plan for me. That was $14. Then US Cellular came out with an unlimited plan for all phones on the family plan for $19. Only when we went unlimited did her numbers go up. I just don't know if this is average or not.

3. You gotta remember that she's growing up with this stuff
she sees texting as just one more way of communicating with her friends. It's only us old people who see it as something different and weird.

4. Yeah, I know
I teach high school so I see it all the time. as a parent, I just want to make sure she isn't some texting freak, which I doubt she is, but gotta make sure.

5. Yeah, try to make sure she doesn't end up communicating with her friends solely through text. :)
Make sure she actully gets out of the house now and then. Don't want her to grow up and be a complete geek with no interpersonal skills. :)

6. My kids have unlimited texting.
Thank God. And, remember, all the text messages that they receive count toward the total as well, not just the ones they send.

8. I don't think that's ridiculous, really....
1500/month = ~50/day = 5 texts each with 10 friends, or 10 each with 5 friends, doesn't seem that unreasonable.

Personally, some days I might send 20 and some days none, but I'm 27, so it's not the *primary* means of communication for me, with most people...

10. I bought my teen daughters unlimited texting for Christmas
They had been on the 250/month plan and had to work very hard to keep it under the limit. I can only imagine what January's totals will be -- they've been going nuts. :)

12. It is funny that it seems so natural and easy to kids.
Pushing tiny cell phone buttons numerous times seems like a real pain in the ass to me.

I mean it really feels like a labor intensive way of getting a message to somebody.

Like effin' Morse Code or something.

I usually only text in response to one my son sends to me.
