4. Beaming ethereal "vibes" at you...

Praying to the Great Wotsits: "Oh great wotsits, lionesspriyanka deserves some GOOD cramps."

Smart-assness aside, commiserations. In such situations, I take baths. LONG. HOT. BATHS...

Ahhhhhhhh....

Um... I'm pretty sure your name begins with one of the letters of the alphabet! Also, I bet that when you eat food you prefer to swallow it in bite-sized chunks.

Am I right?!?! How spooky would THAT be?

18. You don't fool me. YOU'RE INVENTING THEM.
Ha. You think I was born yesterday? Your thinly disguised attempt to convince me of your reality and your so call "scalloped" potatoes wouldn't fool a Republican! "Flower" sauce? Hmf! And: "This image link contains an illegal code"? CONVENIENT! I deny your reality and that of your culinary mind trips! You are merely near-sentient computer software sending strange coded messages to test me... :tinfoilhat:

Clearly I gave this thread the wrong title. I should have said tell me anything about root vegetables.

But I digress!

Good on you, anyway, SacredCow! Here's to you and your macerated tubers and your shiny new chariot!

I should have specified "new to ME." It's a 1979 Volkswagen Beetle convertible that I'm going to restore.

35. Art Cars and their owners have a special place in my heart...
I was on a road trip to the Grand Canyon and Arizona in college, and our car broke down outside of Tombstone. 2 of us set out on foot towards the next town (Bisbee) and soon this car passed:

the owner and artist gave us a ride into town and called some mechanic friends to get our car towed and fixed. Meantime she gave us the key to the apartment over her studio and said we could stay there until the car was fixed. So we hung out in Bisbee, which is without question the coolest town I've ever been in. VERY Bohemian and laid back! Someday, I will go back!

15. 'Ask me anything' threads, copycat threads et al
work only if you're one of the Cool Kids.

For that matter, most threads work only if you're one of the Cool Kids.

'Tis a hard-learnt lesson, I know. :(

36. Alright, while the US has many places named after battles...
Only a few of those sites became battlefields themselves. One of these is the scene of the June, 1861 Battle of Philippi, in what became West Virginia, which had been named after the place where the armies of Marcus Antonius and Octavian defeated the forces of Brutus and Cassius in 42 BCE. Another is Resaca, Georgia, where Sherman's armies clashed with Joe Johnston in May, 1864; that place name commemorates the Battle of Resaca de la Palma during the US-Mexican War.
