I had a patient who was 90+ years old tonight.

Very nice, independent woman. Anyway, her physician recommended she go to an extended care facility and she does want to (she shouldn't have to by the way- she's very with it and lives with her son). The punchline of all this is that she actually said, "They're trying to make me go to rehab. I said no no." I had to bite my tongue. I'm not joking either. I just have co-workers who don't know current music that didn't get it.

I must say that most physicians do not know crap about the nursing home situation. Sometimes they recommend a ptient go into one when the nursing home does not want people who are still doing well. Nursing homes end up telling the person to go back home.
