can someone explain to me how the football players didnt get frostbite yesterday?

I saw linemen playing with exposed arms. I thought you can get frostbite in a very short time when its 0 or below????

1. 1) They weren't out in the cold long enough, and

2) It's extremities that get frostbitten (fingers, toes, noses, ears), not arms.

The conditions at that stadium were indeed dangerously cold. I worried about some of the fans, given that alcohol keeps people from understanding danger.
